Candace Michelle

Being raised by my grandmother, I can hardly remember a time when I have not been surrounded by children of all ages, personalities and behaviors. My first job at the age of 16 was a “birthday hostess” at Chuck E. Cheese where I sang, danced and made birthdays extra special for many children. Throughout high school and college I tutored elementary children in all subjects. I worked as a youth Cheer and Dance instructor for 4 years while I attended the University of California, Riverside. I interned with the Department of Public Social Services as an emergency response counselor for Child Protective services where I dealt with extreme abuse and dangerous situations. The ultimate outcome of any response was locating safety and shelter for unfortunate children. Upon completion of my Bachelor’s degree, with a major concentration in Sociology and a minor in Child Development I became certified as a substitute teacher with Palm Springs Unified School District. I still hold my credentials and fill in for teachers when needed. I have classroom experience with children pre- school – 12th grade in all subjects as well as special education. I worked for the Riviera Resort in Palm Springs for the past 2 years where I was requested, on several occasions, to assist with the Kids Club on select weekends and holidays for one-on-one and group activities, learning exercises, games and tons of FUN! In addition to the above, I have spent the past 10+ years sitting for and providing care to numerous families with children (newborn-12yrs), both short and long term. References available upon request!

I enjoy what I do! I love making special connections and developing relationships with children and I look forward to spending time with your family!
